Risk Disclosure

Important Information

Trading digital assets and using DeFi protocols involves substantial risk, including the possible loss of principal. You should carefully consider whether trading or using DeFi is suitable for you.

Please Read Carefully

This Risk Disclosure is an important part of our Terms of Service. By accessing or using CoinDuck, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the risks described on this page.

Understanding the Risks

Cryptocurrencies, DeFi protocols, and blockchain technology are new and rapidly evolving. While they offer innovative opportunities, they also involve significant risks that may result in the loss of some or all of your investment.

1. Market Volatility Risk

Digital asset prices may fluctuate rapidly, severely, and unpredictably. You may lose some or all of the value of your assets. Past performance is not indicative of future results, and price swings can occur without warning due to market sentiment, news, or macroeconomic factors.

2. Smart Contract Risk

DeFi protocols rely on smart contracts which may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or be subject to exploits, governance attacks, or unexpected changes that result in partial or total loss of funds. Smart contract audits do not guarantee the absence of security flaws.

3. Leverage & Liquidation Risk

Using leverage can magnify both gains and losses significantly. You may be liquidated and lose your entire collateral, even from small adverse price movements. Liquidation cascades and price dislocations can amplify losses beyond deposited funds.

4. Liquidity Risk

Low liquidity may prevent you from executing trades at desired prices or exiting positions quickly. Slippage can significantly impact trade execution, and in extreme cases, markets may become completely illiquid, trapping your positions.

5. Regulatory Risk

Laws and regulations regarding digital assets, DeFi, and perpetual trading may change unpredictably across jurisdictions. New regulations could impact the value, usability, or legality of your assets or the protocols you interact with.

6. Technology & Network Risk

Blockchain networks, nodes, or third-party services may experience outages, delays, congestion, or failures. Transactions may fail, be delayed, or be subject to front-running, MEV extraction, or other adverse on-chain conditions. Network and protocol fees are non-refundable, including on failed transactions.

7. Counterparty & Third-Party Risk

You rely on third parties — exchanges, bridges, oracles, APIs, wallet providers, and data indexers — who may fail, act fraudulently, or be compromised. Tokens accessible through these features may be illiquid, fraudulent, malicious (e.g., honeypots, rug pulls), or impersonate legitimate assets.

8. Operational & Security Risk

Human error, system failures, or security breaches may result in the loss of funds or data. Irreversible transactions — blockchain transactions, once broadcast and confirmed, cannot be canceled, reversed, or refunded by CoinDuck or any other party.
