Track total value locked across DeFi protocols and blockchain ecosystems. TVL reflects how much capital users trust a protocol with. What is TVL?

Track DeFi total value locked across protocols and ecosystems with CoinDuck's crypto TVL analytics dashboard. Explore capital allocation, protocol adoption, and ecosystem health in real time.

What is Total Value Locked (TVL)?

Total Value Locked represents the sum of all assets deposited into a protocol, usually expressed in US dollars. It is one of the most widely watched metrics in decentralized finance because it reflects how much capital users trust a protocol with. TVL does not measure trading activity or revenue — it shows the value of assets currently committed to a protocol's smart contracts.

Track TVL Across Crypto Ecosystems

CoinDuck aggregates TVL data from on-chain indexers across hundreds of protocols and multiple blockchain ecosystems. Use the protocol explorer table to compare TVL, 24h performance, and category. The chain distribution chart shows where capital is concentrated, while individual protocol pages provide full chain breakdowns and market data.

How CoinDuck Calculates and Displays TVL

TVL figures are aggregated from on-chain data and indexer feeds. Only non-custodial, on-chain deposits are counted. Stablecoin and multi-chain positions are normalized to USD using current market rates. Data revalidates on a short interval to balance freshness with performance.

Data Methodology

TVL figures are aggregated from on-chain data and indexer feeds. Only non-custodial, on-chain deposits are counted. Stablecoin and multi-chain positions are normalized to USD using current market rates at the time of measurement.

Crypto Total Value Locked (TVL) FAQ

TVL measures the total value of crypto assets deposited into a protocol or smart contract. A rising TVL generally indicates growing user trust and capital inflow, while falling TVL can signal outflows or reduced activity.
TVL figures are refreshed periodically and cached for a few minutes to balance freshness with performance. The dashboard revalidates data on a short interval so the numbers stay close to real time.
Different aggregators may count assets, restaking layers, and chain deployments differently. CoinDuck uses a consistent methodology across all protocols so comparisons within this dashboard are reliable.
TVL does not reflect trading volume, revenue, or protocol profitability. A protocol can have high TVL but low usage, or low TVL but high fee generation. Use TVL alongside other metrics like volume, fees, and open interest for a complete picture.
